SYNAPSE shines as first stakes winner for FAIRBANKS

0 76

SYNAPSE, one of seven juvenile winners in FAIRBANKS’ second crop, came out with her first victory in the $150,000 My Trusty Cat S. at Delta Downs on Friday, Oct. 25. The dark bay filly bred and owned by Dr. Glen Warren and trained by Andrew Leggio Jr. pushed her career earnings to $100,200 in her third career start. She is the first stakes performer from six named foals for her dam Sarah Lane’s Oates (by Sunshine Forever), a 15-time stakes winner of $888,296.

The FAIRBANKS 2-year-olds of 2013 have been an enterprising bunch - half of his starters are winners, and two others, Interchange and Respectful Wishes, are stakes-placed. FAIRBANKS currently ranks third on the 2-year-old sires rankings in the Mid-Atlantic region by progeny earnings.

Since his first runners came to the races a year ago, FAIRBANKS has nearly 60 percent runners from foals, and average earnings per starter of nearly $24,000! One of the most promising stallion prospects to ever enter stud in the region, the graded stakes-winning son of Giant’s Causeway retired after a career on the track that only got better as he got older, winning at distances up to a mile and a quarter and placing in Grade 1 company on his way to earning $879,768.
