La Coupe : Danceteria keeps going in native France

0 3

Trained in England by French-born David Menuisier, Danceteria (Redoute’s Choice) won again for his second trial in France in La Coupe (Gr3), Monday at ParisLongchamp over 10 furlongs.

Bred by Berend van Dalfsen in the Vienne at Jean-Marc Lucas’s Haras du Berlais, he finally got the better off the favourite Soleil Marin (Kendargent), beaten a length and second to the other Godolphin raider in the field, Spotify (Redoute’sChoice).

Danceteria finished 3rd in the Brigadier Gerard Stakes (Gr3) at Sandown previously after a winning comeback at Maisons-Laffitte.

Unsold at £ 90,000 as a yearling at Tattersalls, he’s out of Bal de la Rose (Cadeaux Généreux), sold last December at Arqana breeding sale for € 150,000 in foal to Dariyan. Two Siyouni colts were born in between. The price tag at Deauville sounds cheap now, especially for a sister to top sire Lope de Vega!

Two Listed races were also on the car on Monday at ParisLongchamp. The Prix Volterra (L), over a mile, went to Suphala (Frankel), disappointing in The Emirates Poule d’Essai des Pouliches (French 1,000, Gr1) last time out. over the extended 1 1/4 mile in the Prix Mélisande (L), another 3yo fillies contest, Edisa (Kitten’s Joy) kept a head on Golden Box(Kitten’s Joy), two fillies trained by Alain de Royer Dupré for respectively the Aga Khan and LNJ Foxwood Stable, managed by American owner Jaime Roth.
