The Irish Show Jumping team, sponsored by Devenish & The Underwriting Exchange, have claimed an excellent runner-up finish in today’s Longines FEI Nations Cup at Abu Dhabi in The United Arab Emirates. Tipperary’s Trevor Breen got Ireland off to a perfect start in the opening round, jumping clear with the Karen Swann-owned 10-year-old gelding Escapade H. Shane Breen and Ipswich Van De Wolfsakker – owned by Breen Equestrian, Jos Lansink, & Konstantin Pysarenko, finished with one fence down, before Louth’s Mark McAuley delivered an excellent clear round with Eva Lundin’s Jasco VD Bisschop. Derry’s David Simpson and the Charlotte Platt-owned Jenson 55 were the discard score for Ireland in the opening round.
