CARBINE CLUB OF THE ACT AND CANBERRA RACING CLUB ANNOUNCE GUEST SPEAKERS FOR BLACK OPAL STAKES LUNCHEON

The Canberra Racing Club and Carbine Club of ACT have joined forces to present the Black Opal Stakes luncheon held on Friday 8 March, two days from the Black Opal Stakes race day.

Debbie Kepitis and Peter Tighe, part owners of the worlds best racehorse, Winx will be guest speakers, and will also bring her record 4 Cox plates to be shown at the lunch.  The 7 year old mare, Winx has amassed almost $23,000,000 in prize money in Australia and will kick-off her final racing campaign in the Group Two Apollo Stakes with her grand final being the Queen Elizabeth Stakes in April.

After the Apollo Stakes, Winx is expected to try to claim the Group One treble she has won for the past two years – the Chipping Norton, George Ryder and Queen Elizabeth Stakes.

Canberra Racing Club members will also have their opportunity to win a Maserati for the weekend by attending the lunch.  Any member that attends the lunch will go into the draw to win a Maserati for the weekend proudly supported by John McGrath Auto Group.  Attendees can also sign up at the lunch for their chance to win.

The lunch will also provide attendees with a close up look at the $5000 Black Opal Stakes trophy which has been created locally by jewellers Vangeli’s of Woden.

Tickets can be booked via the Club on 6204 0000 and includes a 3 course meal and four hour beverage package for $140 per person.
