NWTA Volunteers Advance Hagg Lake Trail Re-Route with Key Drainage Fixes

0 54

Another small but focused crew showed up at Hagg Lake and kept the momentum going on a critical re-route project.

This dig day centered on the section between Turtle (7) and Gandolf’s (8), where volunteers continued shaping a new trail alignment to replace a damaged portion of the Hagg Lake Loop Trail.

The primary focus this time was drainage. The team worked through a complex problem area that has been vulnerable to heavy erosion, improving how water moves through the trail corridor and setting the foundation for a more sustainable tread.

This work is part of a larger effort to restore connectivity on the Hagg Lake Loop Trail. After a bridge in this section was uprooted, the route was left interrupted. The ongoing re-route will eventually reconnect the trail and bring riders and hikers back onto a continuous, off-road experience.

With each work party, this section gets closer to completion. What started as a disruption is steadily turning into a more durable and thoughtfully built piece of trail.
