Bikepacking Weekend Returns – October 4-5, 2025 – FREE!
BikeAthens is doing another quick little overnight trip to Danielsville at Camp Kiwanis! We’re thrilled offer this trip for FREE to all participants… just fill out the reservation form in advance!
This is a great opportunity to practice bike camping. You can haul as much or as little of your gear as you like; we’ll have someone who can take your gear by car.
When? 2pm Saturday, October 4th – 1pm Sunday, October 5th
Where? BikeAthens to Camp Kiwanis 2613 Old Wildcat Bridge Rd, Danielsville, GA 30633. We’ve rented the field and pavilion.
How much? FREE!
Gear? Bring your own camping gear.
Food? We’ll have basic food, see note below.
The purpose of this trip is for people to ride bikes, test out their gear, get some good advice and have a great time.
You’ll be joined alongside BikeAthens friends, volunteers, board members, and staff. We’ll be here to help with any questions or bike repairs before and during the ride. We can even help with getting you set up with the right gear. We’ll have a couple of people driving up some supplies by car, so if you can’t fit all your stuff on your bike this trip, we’ll have you covered.
Note on food: We’ll have basic food, but we’re not planning to grill. If you have any dietary restrictions or requirements, you may want to pack something you know you can eat. Again, you can haul it yourself, or have our car bring it up. Please let us know if you have questions about this.
The ride rolls out from the shop at 2pm on Saturday, October 4, and returns around 1pm on Sunday, October 5. The camp is 24.6-26.6 miles away depending on route, final route will be posted soon and links made available via RideWithGPS.
Before the ride, stop by any Thursday night during FYOB to get help with your bike, setting up racks, attaching bags, advice about camp stoves and tent setups, etc.
