I began cycling about 12 or 13 years ago but also remember my strawberry shortcake bike as a child with red streamers.
How did you get into cycling?
When I met my now husband he was a cyclist and I was a curious newbie! He took me on a 100 km ride and I was instantly hooked. From there I became intrigued about racing and then became an ambassador for Liv Cycling and developed a women’s team. Since then I have ridden in races most disciplines other than the track!
What is your favorite discipline?
I would have to say Mountain biking out Cyclocross being a close 2nd. There is no greater feeling than being among the trails in nature!
Who is your favorite cyclist?
Marianne Vos – always #vosisboss
What has been your favorite event in 2024?
Racing BC bike race and Singletrack 6 back to back! Unforgettable 13 days of suffering but rewarding and memorable summer!
What is something you want to see in the future of cycling?
I would like to see more focus and support in helping young athletes be more compassionate towards themselves and work on removing the pressure of being an athlete. Too many promising athletes leave the sport because the passion and joy it once brought them fades. That is my goal as a psychotherapist.
