New Delhi: French Cyclist Loana Lecomte suffered serious injuries after a dangerous fall during women’s cross-country mountain bike event at the Paris Olympics on Sunday, July 28.
Lecomte got an early lead in the early phase of the race, but soon she lost it to her Compatriot Pauline Feraand-Prevot. The 24-year-old was in the chasing group, chasing for her maiden Olympic medal. When Loana Lecomte entered the rock garden section of the course, she had a horrific fall after losing control.

According to a report by French outlet L’Equipe, French medal hopeful Loana Lecomte suffered head trauma and a minor jaw injury after a horrific crash. Fortunately, she is fine and stable, with no serious injuries.
Despite the accident, the women’s cross-country mountain biking event continued. Pauline Ferrand-Prevot of France won the gold medal with a time of 1:26:02, while Haley Batten of the United States took silver, and Sweden’s Jenny Rissveds earned the bronze.
Loana Lecomte’s coach Yvan Clolus said that she will make a strong comeback after the accident while downplaying the severity of the injuries she suffered during the crash.
“Loana has a facial trauma that will not be serious in the end, she will recover and come back stronger.” Yuan Clolus told France TV.
