Bike ride held in Novy Urengoy

0 1

On August 12, a bike ride was held in Novy Urengoy in celebration of International Youth Day. The event was arranged by the Council of Young Scientists and Professionals of Gazprom Dobycha Yamburg and the Youth Commission of the company’s primary trade union (PTU).

The event was held for a second consecutive year. This time, the ride involved 30 cycling enthusiasts. As per the established tradition, the route stretched for 70 kilometers from the head office of Gazprom Dobycha Yamburg to the Arctic Circle stela.

“This is indeed a challenge for an untrained cyclist, but most of the participants have no problem with it because they are active in sports,” said Dmitry Shelomentsev, a sports doctor from Gazprom Dobycha Yamburg, who was among the supporting staff during the ride.

The athletes covered the route in five hours. After crossing the finish line, all cyclists received commemorative medals. The organizers deemed the bike ride a success, with the number of participants having increased from last year.
