Council announces plans for Townhead Street missing cycle link

Sheffield City Council has announced its plans for a street upgrade for the missing cycle link between Fargate and the recently-upgraded Tenter Street. At the moment people on bikes have to use the carriageway to travel between the two, including an uphill section where it is particularly unpleasant to share with motor traffic.
It will include fully separated cycle tracks linking these two important areas together, a new zebra crossing across Campo Lane and public realm improvements along Townhead Street and Leopold Street.
