Trying to remove stuck crankset - WD40 ok?

So I've got my ParkTool CCP-22 crank remover tool, and I've got a Shimano RSX triple crankset on a square taper BB I'm trying to remove. I can thread the tool in just fine but when it gets to the point where the tool would start pushing the crank off it's stuck like a mother and I can't get enough leverage to make it go. Is it OK to spray some WD40 into the hole and onto where the crank sits on the square spindle before I thread the removal tool in?
