Should I down size for a BMC road bike?

Hi, Im looking to buy a BMC Teamachine. I ride 54cm in Giant. I went to a shop and they told me I would be 54cm in Specialized too. They also told me I would be 51 cm in BMC. They didnt had any BMC there when I visited and the shop is 9h drive from my home so its hard to go back. Im 59 3/4. Do you think a 51 cm would be good? They mesured me at 53 cm there.
