Using panniers (rear) and child seat (rear)

Hi,
the kid and I are very excited to use our Thule Ride Along to get to daycare. The problem is, my beloved Ortlieb panniers don't fit underneath the seat, and diapers etc. need to be shlepped. I have not been able to find panniers that work instead. Did anybody have the same problem and found a good solution? (A backpack is not the solution.)
Any suggestions appreciated!
