Bike Trailer plus Rack

I have a rack on the back of my GT carbon gravel bike. I use it frequently but I also want to be able to tow my daughter in a child trailer occasionally.
I have threaded rack mounts.
Has as anyone been able to periodically attach a child trailer to a bike without removing the rear rack?
Do do you think an extra long screw to go through the rack and trailer mount would do the trick?
