Padding for carrying a bike on the shoulder?

Is there a fairly easy way (something to buy and strap onto the bike?) to put some padding under the main bar under the bike seat, so I can lift the bike up and carry it on my shoulder? I saw a little under the seat pouch that had that as an advertisement idea. I wasn't planning on lifting and...
