Hydraulic brakes

Hi all.
I was hoping to upgrade my sons Carrera Vengence mountain bike to hydraulic brakes.
The bike currently has disk brakes
Can anyone one tell me if the caliber mounting holes in the frame are a standard size for all bikes??? And if so I can assume that the hydraulic callipers will...
