Panasonic Sport 500 upgrade, yay or nay

I have a Panasonic Sport 500 silver color from 1983, I also have a trashed Trek 1200 from the 1990's with Shimano 105 parts. In the communities opinion, should I upgrade this old faithful machine with these parts or just sell them on ebay? (Yes I have other bikes, but ancient steel absorbs street...
