2026 Biktrix Senior Provincial Championships Recap

Unity Curling Club – March 19–22, 2026

The 2026 Biktrix Senior Provincials brought together seasoned curlers from across Saskatchewan at the Unity Curling Club for four days of spirited competition. Athletes aged 50 and over competed in both the men’s and women’s divisions for provincial senior titles and the opportunity to represent Saskatchewan at upcoming national championships. This year’s event once again highlighted the depth of experience and competitive drive in the province’s senior curling community

Women’s Teams

The women’s event was a modified triple knockout format with teams advancing to the playoff round as they won.

In their opening game, Team Holland defeated Team McCusker 5-3, then moved on to defeat Team Streifel 11-4. Team McCusker battled back and defeated Team Inglis 6-4, and Team Streifel 8-4 to meet Team Holland once again. Team Holland defeated Team McCusker 6-5 in an extra end to secure thier spot in Sundays final. Team McCusker defeated Team Streifel once again to face off against Team Holland for the third time in the event. Team Holland secured their undefeated weekend with a 7-1 win over Team McCusker and claimed the green jackets and the title of Team Saskatchewan.

Congratulations to Team Holland! Skip Amber Holland, third Jill Shumay, second Sherri Singler, and lead Trenna Dersall from the Sutherland Curling Club.


The men’s event was a triple knockout with one qualifier from the A-event, one qualifier from the B-event, and 2 qualifiers from the C-event. Team Korte beat Team Bryden 6-1 in the A-event, Team Duncan defeated Team Bryden 5-4 in the B-event, and in the C-Event, Team Franko defeated Team Bakken 4-3 to qualify, and Team Bryden defeated Team Brown 7-3.

In the playoffs, Team Korte defeated Team Duncan in the 1v2 game, and Team Franko defeated Team Bryden in the 3vs4 game. In the Semi-final. Team Franko defeated Team Duncan 9-6. The final was last years reigning champions Team Korte vs Team Franko and it was Team Franko who came out with a 7-6 victory the title of 2025 Biktrix Senior Mens Provincial Champions.

Congratulations to Team Franko! Skip Brent Franko, Third Verne Anderson, Second Murray Sunderland, and Lead Dwight Pomedli from the Wadena Curling Club. This is the first green jacket for Brent Franko, Dwight Pomedli and Murray Sunderland!

Both teams will go on to represent Saskatchewan at the 2026 Canadian Senior Curling Championships on home soil at the Nutana Curling Club in Saskatoon later this year!
