Join One of Alberta’s Premier Curling Clubs as Head Ice Technician!

The Sherwood Park Curling Club (SPCC)—recognized as one of Alberta’s top curling destinations—is looking for a Head Ice Technician for the 2026–27 season. This is your chance to lead ice operations in an 8-sheet, state-of-the-art facility located in the Glen Allan Recreation Complex (GARC) in Sherwood Park, Alberta.

Our modernized curling rink boasts:
A revitalized concrete floor (2016)
Upgraded locker rooms, Pro Shop, lounge, and viewing gallery
New curling stones and an advanced R/O system acquired in the past five years
With 950+ active members, SPCC delivers an unforgettable curling experience for players of all levels. Our season runs late September to March, featuring:
18 weekly leagues
4 weekly programs
3 annual SPCC bonspiels
Corporate events, clinics, and Curling Alberta competitions

We’re proud to have hosted the 2024 Curling Canada RockFest West and to be named Curling Alberta’s Club of the Year (2019).

Your Role
Reporting to the Business Manager, you’ll ensure world-class ice conditions and smooth operations from August 2026 to April 2027. You’ll lead a team, maintain top-quality ice, and keep our facility running efficiently and safely—all while fostering positive relationships with staff, members, and the community.

Key Responsibilities
Ice installation and daily maintenance
Recruit, train, and schedule ice staff
Minor facility maintenance and repairs
Ice removal and proper storage of rocks and equipment

What We’re Looking For
Level 2 Ice Technician Certification or higher
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
Customer-focused mindset
Ability to work independently and deliver results
