2026 Bunge Prairie Pinnacle Recap

On January 5-11, 9 of the best women’s curling teams headed to the CN Community Centre in Melville to play down with hopes of representing Saskatchewan at the 2026 Scotties Tournament of Hearts in 2026 Scotties Tournament of Hearts in Mississauga, on January 23 – February 1, 2026!

The 9 Teams Competing at the 2026 Bunge Prairie Pinnacle are as follows:

  1. Team Miller – skip Sara Miller, third Ashley Williamson, second Callan Hamon, lead Hannah Rugg, coach Shannon England (Highland Curling Club)
  2. Team Barker – skip Penny Barker, third Lindsay Bertsch, second Taryn Schachtel, lead Danielle Sicinski, coach Sherry Anderson (Moose Jaw Curling Centre)
  3. Team Campbell– skip Jolene Campbell, third Robyn Silvernagle, second Rachel Big Eagle, lead Danya Demmans, coach Ben Gamble (Highland Curling Club)
  4. Team Martin – skip Nancy Martin, third Chaelynn Stewart, second Kadriana Lott, lead Christie Gamble, alternate Colleen Ackerman, coach Mark Lang (Martensville Curling Club)
  5. Team Thevenot – skip Ashley Thevenot, third Stephanie Schmidt, second Taylor Stremick, lead Kaylin Mattern, coach Susan O’Connor (Martensville Curling Club)
  6. Team Enge – skip Jenna Enge, third Tanille Williamson, second Jade Kerr, lead Jasmine Kerr, coach Trevor Kerr (Esterhazy Curling Club)
  7. Team Selzer– skip Mandy Selzer, third Erin Barnhart, second Megan Selzer, lead Sarah Slywka (Balgonie Curling Club)
  8. Team Tisdale – skip Jana Tisdale, third Stephanie Bukurak, second Chantel Martin, lead Carla Anaka, coach Marcia Gudereit (Highland Curling Club)
  9. Team Orsted – skip Sherrilee Orsted, third Candace Newkirk second Shalon Fleming, lead Nancy Inglis, coach Wayne Kiel (Callie Curling Club)

The competition kicked off with a team social on January 4, bringing players, sponsors, and organizers together. Representatives from Bunge, SaskTel, the City of Melville, and CURLSASK’s Executive Director spoke at the event. A highlight of the evening was the unveiling of the new Women’s Provincial Championship trophy, part of CURLSASK’s Legacy Series. The trophy design mirrors the national championship trophy while embracing the new event name, the Bunge Prairie Pinnacle.

The competition was a nine-team round-robin with 4 teams advancing to the playoffs. After the round-robin, here were the standings:

Playoff Recap:

  • 1 vs 2 Game: Team Thevenot (8-0) faced Team Campbell (6-2), with Campbell securing a 10-7 victory and advancing directly to the final.
  • 3 vs 4 Game: Team Tisdale (5-3) defeated Team Barker (6-2) 10-6, moving on to the semi-final.
  • Semi-Final: After a very close battle, saw Team Tisdale defeated Team Thevenot in a narrow 8-7 win.

At 3:00pm, it was a last years runner up, Team Campbell taking on Team Tisdale, with Team Campbell taking home the title of Team Saskatchewan with a 4-3 victory!

Congratulations to skip Jolene Campbell, third Robyn Silvernagle, second Rachel Big Eagle, lead Danya Demmans, and coach Ben Gamble from the Highland Curling Club in Regina. They will represent Team Saskatchewan at the 2026 Scotties Tournament of Hearts in Mississauga, on January 23 – February 1, 2026!

From the community and local businesses to Lexie and the entire host committee – your hard work and hospitality made this event a success. Shoutout to the Millionaires for letting us transform their state-of-the-art facility into a championship curling venue, the Umpires for keeping everything running smoothly, and the Ice Makers for crafting top-tier ice. To Real Cast Media – thank you for bringing the action to fans across the province. And of course, to the players for putting on an amazing show and the fans who came to cheer on their favourite teams at the rink, tuned in online, or followed the online scores – this event wouldn’t be the same without you!
