East and West sites confirmed for 2025 Under-21 Mixed Doubles Qualifiers

0 319

The path to representing Canada on the world junior mixed doubles stage will officially begin this fall, as the host sites for the 2025 Under-21 Mixed Doubles Qualifiers have been confirmed.

The 2025 Under-21 Mixed Doubles Qualifier East will take place at the Guelph Curling Club in Guelph, Ont., from Nov. 26-30. Curlers in western Canada will have their opportunity at the 2025 Under-21 Mixed Doubles Qualifier West, hosted by the Richmond Curling Centre in Richmond, B.C., on the same dates.

Registration is $200 per team and opens Sept. 1 at noon (all times ET) and closes Sept. 22 at noon. Each event accepts up to 48 entries. Teams that won a Member Association U-21 mixed doubles championship last season are already confirmed.

These qualifiers serve as the first step in a national process to determine which Canadian team will represent the country at the 2026 World Junior Mixed Doubles Championship (times and dates to be confirmed by World Curling). The top four teams from each qualifier advance, creating an eight-team field for the 2026 Canadian Under-21 World Mixed Doubles Qualifier. That national event is scheduled for March 24-27, 2026, in Sudbury, Ont.

Athletes must be 20 or younger on June 30, 2025, to be eligible. This ensures all players at nationals meet the age requirements for the 2026 world championship.
