Job Opportunity – Team CURLSASK Instructor

Are you as passionate about the sport of Curling as we are? CURLSASK is the provincial governing body of Curling in Saskatchewan. Our mission is to promote and develop the future of curling in Saskatchewan by providing leadership, services and programs for the curling community. We are passionate for the sport and we LOVE to see our 125-member clubs succeed.

CURLSASK is currently seeking a number of on-ice instructors to educate and instruct the next generation of curlers. As a Team CURLSASK Instructor you will be the face of CURLSASK to youth curlers and you will represent our organization. Your primary responsibility will be instructing at our Clinics and Prairieland Curling Camps that will in turn impact the future of curling in Saskatchewan.

Job Title: Team CURLSASK Instructor
Job Type: Part-Time – During the curling season
Frequent evenings and weekends based on your availability
Reports to: Development Coordinator
Job Purpose: The Team CURLSASK Instructor will be responsible for leading our Viterra Youth Clinics and Prairieland Curling Camp Series and cultivating a lifelong passion for the sport of curling in Saskatchewan youth curlers

Job Focus:
1. Viterra Clinics:
To instruct at our 1 hour, 2 hour, and 5 hour Viterra Youth Clinics! The focus of the Viterra Clinics are to introduce youth curlers aged 5-18 to Saskatchewan’s official sport. Experienced curlers will also have the opportunity to improve their deliveries, sweeping, and strategy. CURLSASK hosts approximately 25 Viterra Clinics across Saskatchewan each season.
2. Prairieland Curling Camp Series: To instruct at our eight innovative, one day Prairieland Curling Camps. The focus of the Prairieland Curling Camp Series is to promote having FUN!, make connections with other curlers from across the province, and develop skills. The series is targeted to those between the ages of 10-18. The successful candidate will demonstrate their instructional skills in delivering our Prairieland Curling Camp Series.

Job Skills: A Team CURLSASK Instructor should be one with an understanding and appreciation of the sport of curling. An individual working towards a post-secondary degree is desirable or who has graduated from post-secondary. All applicants are expected to have previous coaching experiences in the sport of curling with a combination of general curling knowledge.
