Watch ‘The Simpson’ Journey to an Olympic Gold Medal in Curling (Video)
Despite some awe-inspiring athleticism during the 2018 Winter Olympics, one of the most talked about moments is when Team U.S.A. beat Sweden to win the gold medal in curling… because “The Simpsons” predicted it eight years ago.
Homer first fell in love with the idea of curling in 2010 when his local ice rink was closed for curling practice. “Marge, this is perfect for both of us! It’s got bowling for me and sweeping for you!” he said. And he was right. The time they spent together doing something they both loved (and were good at), rekindled a flame in their marriage, one that burned all the way to the Olympic torch in Vancouver.

During Olympic trials for the U.S. curling team, Homer pushed his stone a little too hard and it was up to Marge to sweep it into the center of the circle. She made it! They were headed to Canada.
Although an injury during the semi-finals at the games almost ruined the Simpsons’ chance at Olympic gold, they made it to the podium.
