Indian chess made rapid progress in 2023
The momentum that began with the Chess Olympiad 2022 has indeed yielded positive results, as India has now established a strong presence in World Chess. While chess has consistently held a prominent position in government initiatives due to India's success in global age-group events, the significant impact of private sponsorship and the involvement of accomplished individuals in the development programme has become truly evident only recently.
