Azerbaijan Championship 2023 – LIVE

The Azerbaijan Championship will be held in Baku from 13 to 26 January 2022. Players receive 90 minutes for the first 40 moves and then 30 minutes until the end of the game, plus a 30-second increment starting from move one. The championship will be held in two stages. At the first stage, participants compete in a 9-round Swiss system. The top 4 advance to the knockout stage where each match consists of 2 games. If tied, the first 2 games are played with a control time of 15 minutes + 10 seconds, then 2 games with a control time of 3 minutes + 2 seconds and, finally, “Armageddon” (5 minutes for white, 4 minutes for black). The winner of the tournament will receive the title of Azerbaijan Chess Champion 2023. The total prize fund of the championship is 25.000 AZN. In this tournament will participate Mahammad Muradli, Ulvi Sadikhov, Fariz Ahmadov, Vasif Durarbayli, Nijat Abasov, Abdulla Gadimbayli, Vugar Asadli, Ismayil Shahaliyev, Elvin Bayramov, Farid Mustafayev, Eltaj Safarli, Murad Ibrahimli, Vugar Manafov, Ahmad Ahmadzada, Khazar Babazada, Aydin Suleymanli, Ismayil Gurbanov, Shahin Valiyev, Shiroghlan Talibov and Khagan hmad.
