CASTLEHIL QUICK-PLAY GRAND PRIX
Thursday 14th July 2022, 7:45pm
Event 2 of 5 – Time-Control 3 minutes + 2 seconds
Swiss 8 rounds – Entries 17

A great turnout for the second Castlehill Quick-Play Grand Prix with 17 players fighting it out for top spot! The favourite for tonight and to be honest the whole event is young Master Rishi Vijayakumar J10! We were not disappointed as he finished the night on 8 wins out of 8 matches. He did not get it all is own way, and did survive a couple of scary moments but got through them as true champions do!

Ray Noble turned back the years as he had one of his best tournaments in a very, very, very, very, very long time, finishing in second place behind Rishi on 6 points! Ray was closely followed by Keith Rose, Billy Westhead, Vladislav Drabych and Saranraj Gururaj in equal 3rd place on 5 points.

We had 8 juniors playing tonight in a field of 17 players! We are a very lucky club indeed! Some found the format a bit too quick but they will learn and be better players for it!

After two events, Rishi Vijayakumar J10 leads the way on 11 points with Vladislav Drabych in second place on 7½ points.

The 3rd round is on Thursday 28th July 22, 7:30pm sign-in.
