Monocarbon carbon fiber mousepad review
REVIEW – I’ve never understood photo mousepads. Seriously, who wants to roll all over the faces of their loved ones with a mouse? I’ve always opted for a styled mousepad, so when I got a chance to look at one covered with real carbon fiber, I happily agreed.
What is it?
The Monocarbon mousepad is just what the name says, a mousepad. Its claim to fame is that the mousing surface is genuine carbon fiber.
What’s in the box?
Let’s start with the box itself.
The packaging is 100% high-class with a matte black finish and gold accents.
It opens like a book and holds the carbon fiber mousepad.

Design and features
The top of the mousepad is covered in stylish carbon fiber. It is a great, high-tech look that complements just about any desk.
The Monocarbon logo is discretely printed on the upper left corner – enough to identify the company without distracting from the pad’s beauty.
The bottom of the carbon fiber mousepad is covered in grippy rubber that holds the pad firmly in place while mousing.
Performance
It doesn’t matter how good a mousepad looks. If your mouse doesn’t work on it, it is worthless. I’m happy to report that my optical mouse works great and tracks accurately on this carbon fiber mousepad. My hand slides easily over the carbon fiber surface with just the right amount of sliding resistance. Plus, it just looks great on my desk, letting anyone know that I love tech and geeky stuff.

Final thoughts
As far as mousepads go, this carbon fiber mousepad is a great-looking one that works well. With a price point at nearly $40, it’s not an impulse purchase. But, with its great, high-tech look and high-end packaging, this would be a great splurge gift for that nerd in your life.
