THURS NIGHT WEEKLY ARENA TOURNAMENT
Thurs 12th Nov 20: 8:10pm to 9: 35pm (Approx)
Another successful night’s chess in our weekly event with 12 players taking part, including new member, Blair Marshall. It was a bit of a fast introduction but I am sure we will all make him welcome; after all we are the friendliest chess club this side of Saturn!
Graham Mooney was on fire tonight with some scintillating games! It was a “Back to the Future” performance, or should that be “back to the past” in Graham’s case! This is Graham’s first top spot finish, but if he can keep this up I am sure it will not be his last! The difference between finishing top and other places, is a bit of luck on top of skill? What I mean is the top three players all played well and all deserved to win, but the player with that bit of luck on top of skill was the difference tonight and every other night!
Richard Kynoch finished runner-up after a shaky start. He showed what a good player he is and a welcome addition to our club this year.
The ever present Andre Babin took 3rd place, with Master Rishi Vijayakumar J9 the top junior in 4th place.
