FIDE Deputy President Georgios Makropoulos is visiting Egypt

FIDE Deputy President Georgios Makropoulos is visiting Egypt to attend the African Clubs Champions CUP held in Cairo by the Egyptian Chess Federation and the Eastern Company.
Mr. Makropoulos inagurated the fifth round by playing the first move of the Equity Bank team and Eastern Company match.
Mr. Makropoulos made a short speech and thanked the Egyptian Chess Federation for hosting the first edition of the African Clubs Championship. He appreciated the efforts of Dr. Hesham Elgendy, President of Egyptian Chess Federation and FIDE EB member.
Mr. Makropoulos also had successful meetings with African delegates as he confirmed that strong chess clubs and the FIDE Chess in Schools programme will help promote chess in Africa.
