Popular ESPN Sideline Reporter Facing Criticism for Podcast Appearance

0 0

Holly Rowe has cultivated a strong following throughout her three decades at ESPN, but some are questioning the longtime sideline reporter's judgment over a new podcast appearance.

Rowe, who covered the Women's Final Four in Phoenix over the weekend, was a guest on the latest episode of the “Show Me Something” podcast, hosted by WNBA player Sophie Cunningham and reality TV star West Wilson. Allison Feaster, a former WNBA guard and current VP of Team Operations & Organizational Growth for the Boston Celtics, also appeared on the show.

“March is when LEGENDS are born and we had a few join us in Phoenix. New episode with Holly Rowe and Allison Feaster drops MONDAY and you won’t want to miss it ????,” the podcast announced Sunday.

You might be wondering why this is such a big deal. If so, it's because you're unfamiliar with the ongoing controversy involving Wilson.

What to know

Wilson and "Summer House" co-star Amanda Batula shocked fans last week when they confirmed their ongoing relationship. Batula was previously married to another “Summer House” fixture, Kyle Cooke, and Wilson used to date Ciara Miller, also a star on the popular Bravo show.

“I have a real issue with a dude who manages to use his charm, says the right thing at the right time,” Cooke said in a recent interview. “West kinda positioned himself, very conveniently, to be this knight in shining armor for women, standing up for Amanda, checking me. I was like, ‘something’s up.’”

Cooke also said Wilson “basically threw his friendship away with me in one clean swoop." Backlash against West and Amanda has been widespread, with Rowe catching some of it.

Rowe on 'wrong side of history'

The comments section of the "Show Me" podcast post filled up with people ripping Wilson, some of them criticizing Rowe in the process.

"Never thought I’d see Holly Rowe on the wrong side of history ????," one commenter wrote.

"GRODY! Mama strong and holly are too good for these two," a second person said.

"Don’t bring @sportsiren into this BS!!!!" a third commenter added.

“Holly Rowe should run the way she did for an interview with Ciara,” another fan said.

"Sick to my stomach. mr Wilson get away from Holly and Allison NOW," a fifth person chimed in.

Holly probably just wanted to talk some women's hoops.
