Easter Weather Alert: Millions Facing Heat 15-25 Degrees Above Average

0 0

Easter Weekend will feature some unseasonably warm temperatures across the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic and Southeast.

Millions of people throughout these regions will experience temperatures in the mid-80s before storms hit the Eastern Seaboard on Easter Sunday, causing temperatures to drop dramatically to start the week on Monday.

Over 270 millions from southern New England to the Carolinas will experience temperatures 15-25 degrees above average to start the weekend, according to Fox Weather.

These unseasonably warm temperatures will fuel severe weather across parts of the Ohio Valley. Central Ohio is under a Level 2 risk of severe thunderstorms, according to NOAA's Storm Prediction Center.

"An active, spring-like pattern brings the chance of both severe weather and flash flooding from the southern Plains to the Midwest today and tonight," the National Weather Service wrote in an alert on Friday.

Washington D.C. is expected to reach temperatures up to 87 degrees on Saturday, which would surpass the area's daily record of 85 degrees set on April 4, 2011. Temperatures will drop dramatically just a few days later, with a forecasted high of 53 degrees on Tuesday.

A cold front responsible for severe weather across the Midwest will bring cooler temperatures and rain to the East Coast on Easter Sunday.
