Sports Journalist West Wilson Confirms Relationship With ‘Summer House’ Castmate Amanda Batula

After weeks of speculation, Summer House costars West Wilson and Amanda Batula have confirmed their romance via Instagram Story.

The pair issued a joint statement announcing their "connection."

The statement read:

"We've seen the growing online speculation, so while this is still very new, we wanted to provide some clarity. It was never our intention to purposely hide anything. Given the complicated relationship dynamics involved and the scrutiny that comes with being on a reality show, we needed a little space to process things privately before speaking on it.

We've shown up for each other as friends over the years, through all the highs and lows, and what's developed recently was the last thing either of us expected. Our connection grew out of a genuine, long-standing friendship, which made it especially important for us to approach this with care.

As our feelings evolved, we wanted to take time to understand exactly what we were feeling. We also recognize that this has had an impact beyond just us and never wanted our actions to cause any hurt or be perceived as careless.

We truly appreciate the understanding and respect as we navigate this."

West and Amanda's Dating History

The online chatter stems from the complicated dating history surrounding the Summer House costars.

Wilson dated fellow Summer House cast member Ciara Miller after joining the reality series for Season 8 in 2023, which follows a group of friends sharing a summer house. The pair dated that summer until December.

Tensions rose after their relationship fizzled, particularly following an interview Wilson gave to The New York Times, in which he said the relationship had "run its course" and suggested he should have been more direct about his feelings.

Despite the breakup, fans have continued to root for Wilson and Miller, even during the current season.

Batula announced her divorce from Kyle Cooke, another Summer House alum, in January. Batula and Cooke had been together since 2015 and had been married since 2022. The pair have long been known for their tumultuous relationship.

Miller and Batula have been close friends since Miller joined the cast in its fifth season in 2021.

It has been reported that Miller and Cooke were both given a heads-up before the joint statement went live. Miller has since unfollowed both Batula and Wilson, with the pair also unfollowing Miller.
