Following Tiger Woods' rollover crash and DUI arrest, People published a report on how his inner circle is reacting after speaking to two inside sources. While legal experts are suggesting the DUI charges likely won't stick, someone close to him expressed concern that Woods' self-destructive behavior is being enabled. Additionally, they shared what they believe could help him get into a better place and move forward.

“He is enabled by people making money off of his talent and reputation, but with his injuries and age, he is frustrated and depressed about his state of health. He wants to play in major tournaments like the Masters, but he needs to get real. Once he does that, he should be better off because people do like Tiger. He is a good person... Tiger needs to get a grip on his limitations and make arrangements for them,” the source says. “His peace of mind has run amok over golf and his pain.”

Woods was arrested and charged with DUI on March 27, 2026, following his rollover car crash in Jupiter Island, Florida. According to a statement from law enforcement, the charges he is now facing came after he failed field sobriety tests, refused to submit to a urine test, and registered 0.00% on a breathalyzer.

The same insider touched on how serious Woods' high-profile relationship with Vanessa Trump has become. They added that they hope that the golfer will reflect on his recent behavior and start acting his age. “They are an intense couple. It's serious, but Tiger has yet to look in the mirror and say, ‘You’re 50 years old and need to act like it.’”

People also quoted a separate insider close to Woods who said that the microscope the golfer is now under will be difficult for him. “He despises public scrutiny." They went on to explain that the athlete enjoys leading a private life away from the public eye. “He is not a social butterfly and prefers to hang around his home with his kids, or hitting balls, or playing video games."
