Scottish Pro Golfer Calls on Scotch Lovers to Swap Their Next Pour for Bourbon

Scottish pro golfer Bob MacIntyre is unapologetic about his love for bourbon.

Ahead of International Whiskey Day on Friday, the European and PGA Tour pro is calling on Scotch lovers to swap their next pour for Bourbon. Specifically, he's calling them to pick up a bottle of Elijah Craig.

The Bob MacIntyre Challenge to Scotch Lovers

MacIntyre, an ambassador for the Bardstown, Kentucky-based brand, is teaming up with Elijah Craig to give 100 lucky fans a $40 American Express gift card to go towards their next Elijah Craig-filled cheers, or as the Scotland native would raise his glass, sláinte.

Men's Journal got an early look at MacIntyre's message to Scotch lovers willing to take on the challenge.

"I've been spending a lot of time in the States lately, and I've started to notice something. You Americans take your whiskey pretty seriously," he says in a video that will drop on Elijah Craig's Instagram account on Friday. "Now, don't get me wrong. I did grow up drinking Scotch. But lately, I've been reaching for some Elijah Craig bourbon. And I invite you to join me."

He adds, "I wanna hear your favorite way of drinking Scotch. A neat pour. A dram with friends. Whatever it may be. And then I invite you to give it a try with Elijah Craig bourbon instead. A few of you might even receive a special cheers from me or a sláinte, depending on which side of the pond you're from."
