Alan Ritchson Fight Ruled Self-Defense; All Charges Dropped
The investigation into Alan Ritchson's physical altercation with neighbor Ronnie Taylor has been closed after Tennessee police ruled that Ritchson was acting in self-defense (via THR).
TMZ initially broke the story by publishing footage of Ritchson getting into a fight with another man—later identified as Ronnie Taylor—in front of Ritchson's two children. The altercation reportedly stemmed from Taylor's disapproval of his neighbor's motorbike and the loud noise it was making.
After reviewing all the footage and consulting both parties, Nashville Police Department has concluded that Ritchson was acting in self-defense and will not be charged. Furthermore, the actor decided not to pursue charges against his neighbor, who could have been facing a potential reckless endangerment charge.
"After reviewing available evidence, including video footage and witness statements, authorities determined that no criminal charges will be pursued. Mr. Ritchson’s actions were found to be in self-defense,” Police Captain Steven Pepin revealed to THR.

Alan Ritchson is best known for playing Jack Reacher in Amazon's popular thriller series Reacher, which is based on the popular book series by Lee Child. The actor has also appeared in movies including Fast X and The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare. He will next be seen in Netflix's original sci-fi movie War Machine.
The footage originally shared by TMZ began with Ritchson towering over Taylor and landing several punches. However, as additional clips surfaced that showed Taylor instigating the confrontation and rushing towards him—in front of Ritchson's children—the police decided to discount the case against the actor.
In an interview with TMZ on March 23, Taylor admitted that he instigated the fight by pushing Ritchson off his motorbike. He was reportedly angered by Ritchson "speeding through the neighborhood" on his bike and causing a disturbance. TMZ also reported that Taylor "dared Alan to hit him" before he ended up on the ground.
Neither Ritchson nor Taylor have commented on the closure of the investigation at the time of reporting.
