Usher Sets the Record Straight on Justin Bieber — Da Brat Has the Details

The biggest night in Hollywood, the 2026 Oscars, had several moments that made for good conversation in the days that followed. From Ryan Coogler’s historic win for Sinners to Michael B. Jordan claiming an Oscar of his own to One Battle After Another taking home the most trophies, the annual event had many people talking. However, adding to the pop culture conversation of it all was the unexpected alleged confrontation between music legend Usher and his protege, Justin Bieber. 

In the days following the Oscars, TMZ published a story, and rumors started swirling about an alleged disagreement between the two music stars that went down at Jay-Z and Beyoncé’s famous Gold Party after the award show. Now, neither Usher nor Bieber has publicly spoken on the rumors, but a famous rapper and friend to Usher just offered the “Yeah” singer’s take on the matter. 

Da Brat Reveals What Usher Told Her about Conversation with Justin Bieber

While on-air at her job with the Ricky Smiley Morning Show on March 24, legendary rapper Da Brat recapped the reports of tension between Usher and Bieber, before revealing that she spoke to Usher on the matter. She stated: 

“Well, I spoke to Usher, and he said this is an exaggeration of conversation. He’s [Usher] been nothing but supportive of plenty of Justin Bieber has had throughout the years. And y’all can actually check the records for all that, he has been. Justin is on his own journey, dealing with his own reality that he’s created. Usher wishes him nothing but the best, and they have no hostility towards each other. They definitely love each other. So, people just take things out of context when they see something, and they run with it. And I’m just here to say that’s is not the issue. They are definitely cool with each other, and they have love, and they support each other.”

To add, Da Brat acknowledged that Usher and Bieber had a conversation that night, but punctuates that the discussion was between the two of them, and no one else heard it. So, was this an example of a non-story blowing up into something more than what it was?
