Jessi Pierce Shared Photo of Her 3 Children Day Before Their Deaths From House Fire

The Minnesota Wild confirmed the death of beloved reporter Jessi Pierce, who died alongside her three children and the family's dog in a house fire over the weekend.

“The Minnesota Wild organization is heartbroken by the tragic loss of Jessi Pierce and her children,” the Wild said in a statement. “Jessi was a kind, compassionate person that cared deeply about her family and those around her. She served as a dedicated ambassador for the game of hockey during her time covering the Wild and the NHL. 

“Jessi and her children will be greatly missed. Our thoughts and deepest condolences go out to their family, friends, and all who knew and loved them.”

Pierce Recently Posted Photo of Family Outing

Pierce and her three children, Hudson, Cayden and Avery attended the opening of local restaurant Cup and Cone on March 20, just a day before their deaths.

She initially shared a photo of the family standing in a long line ahead of the opening. "Bag(s) secured," she shared in the caption of the photo showing her children enjoying their ice cream.

Michael Russo, a fellow Wild reporter for The Athletic, shared a heartbreaking tribute to his friend and her children.

"More than anything, she absolutely loved Hudson, Cayden and Avery and was the greatest mother who did everything she could to bring joy to her sweetest kids," he shared. "Even at Friday’s practice in her beloved Iowa State sweatshirt, she was so excited to take them to the seasonal opening of Cup and Cone in WBL. Seeing those precious pics yesterday, she provided them with another incredibly fun and loving day."

White Bear Lake Fire Department Still Unclear on Source of Fire

The White Bear Lake fire department is still searching for the cause of the fire.

Fire Chief Greg Peterson shared a statement following the horrific incident: "Our hearts ache for those involved in this tragedy. We ask for the opportunity to allow our community to come together and support one another during this difficult time."

Pierce was 37 years old.
