Your Jeep, Dodge, Or Ram EV Can Now Charge Like A Tesla

0 16

Owners of Stellantis EVs now have access to more than 27,500 Tesla Superchargers worldwide. The brand announced that Dodge, Jeep, Ram, Fiat, and Maserati EVs will all gain access to the network, significantly expanding the number of charging options owners have access to nationwide. Access specifically relates to Tesla's V3 and V4 Superchargers. The compatibility will be brought to vehicles by way of an adapter that owners can purchase from either Mopar.com or their local dealership. Tesla also offers "Magic Dock" Superchargers, which feature built-in adaptors, and these vehicles will also be able to use these. In short, there's no reason owners can't charge at a Tesla charger, provided they fork over the $230 for a NACS to CCS1 adapter.

Owners of the Charger Daytona won't have to pay up, though, as these vehicles already come equipped with a NACS-style charger. Superchargers will be integrated into the brand's Free2move Charge app, which allows owners to interface with a variety of independently-owned charging networks, like Tesla's. Using the app, owners can now identify available Superchargers. You can find a full list of compatible Stellantis models below.

  • Dodge Charger Daytona (model years: 2024, 2025, and 2026)
  • Jeep Wagoneer S (model years: 2024 and 2025)
  • Jeep Recon (model year: upcoming 2026)
  • Ram ProMaster EV (model years: 2024, 2025, and 2026)
  • FIAT 500e (model years: 2024, 2025, and 2026)
  • Maserati GranTurismo Folgore (model years: 2024, 2025, and 2026)

Recently, Stellantis has curbed its EV investments, opting instead to keep its existing portfolio of models around while it further extends gasoline engines and renews a commitment to hybrids in the face of shrinking consumer demand for EVs, driven in part by regulatory changes in Washington. The automaker has killed off a few upcoming models and consolidated its plug-in hybrids, eliminating the Jeep 4xe PHEV lineup entirely. Stellantis has also renewed its commitment to performance engines, with new V8-powered versions of the Charger rumored and more V8-driven Wrangler models already on sale.
