An acclaimed Netflix original series that premiered in 2016 has been named the ‘most bingeable Netflix show’ ever. The Crown beat out several incredibly popular shows that were massive hits for the streaming service.

In August 2024, Digital Trends published an article about the most bingeable Netflix shows ever. The list gave The Crown the top spot as the beloved drama series reigned supreme over several of the platform's biggest hits. Its six series run premiered on November 4, 2016, and lasted until the finale premiered on December 14, 2023.

The outlet explained its choice by listing several factors that made The Crown such a celebrated series. The outlet praised the series for giving viewers an intimate look at the Royal family's inner world without shattering their public image. It also described The Crown as a fascinating and worthwhile journey for viewers to take by binge-watching all 60 episodes.

While Digital Trends' urging readers to binge the series over every other Netflix show is huge, there are many other arguments for why it is worth starting or rewatching. Perhaps the most compelling is that the series was nominated for 87 Emmy Awards and won 24. Most notably, it won Outstanding Drama Series, Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series, and Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series at the prestigious awards show.

Another indication of the series' immense popularity is that the show has been included in many other notable lists. One example of that is a June 2025 Entertainment Weekly list of the best Netflix original series of all time, which ranked The Crown at No. 16. Additionally, a March 2026 CNET article listed The Crown as one of the Netflix TV shows that will keep viewers entertained. These are only two examples of the many notable rankings that have praised the acclaimed series.
