'Peaky Blinders' Creator Gives Hopeful Update About Impending Oasis Movie

The new Oasis concert documentary is definitely, not maybe, coming very soon. And the person behind this massive project is none other than Peaky Blinderscreator and screenwriter on the next James Bond movie, Steven Knight. Recently, while speaking to the Project Big Screen podcast, Knight gave an enthusiastic update about the Oasis Live '25 documentary, which is currently in post-production.

"It’s a documentary with a plot," Knight revealed. "It’s actually got a story. And then we’ve expanded it...[it 's] phenomenal." Some of that story will almost certainly be about the events that led to the incredible reunion of band members and brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher. After splitting in 2009, it seemed very unlikely that Oasis would ever reform. And yet, the Live '25 tour was a massive success, without a hint of the acrimony that had plagued the Gallaghers in the past. From celebrity fans like Bob Odenkirk to an overwhelmingly positive response from the general public, the Oasis comeback of 2025 was one of the most uplifting stories in the world of rock.

"We’ve got it down to four hours, so we’ve gotta get it down to [a shorter runtime]," Knight explained. He also noted that all the band members are interviewed for the documentary and that brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher are in rare form, generating new, hilarious soundbites. "They’re just one quote after another. They’re just so funny," Knight said.

Oasis Live '25 Release Date

As of this writing, there's no confirmed release date for the Oasis Live '25 documentary film. That said, because Knight is in the editing process, it feels very likely that it could be released early this summer. Despite some rumors, it's also not clear if this documentary will stream directly on Netflix or if it will enjoy a brief theatrical run in the style of Taylor Swift's recent concert films.
