Former Steelers Star Boycotting Southwest Airlines: 'They've Lost Me'

Southwest Airlines has drawn the ire of the traveling community on a number of occasions in the past few months; whether it's changing a longtime boarding process or adding bag fees, travelers aren't pleased.

Add a former Pittsburgh Steelers star and Super Bowl champion to the list. Earlier this week longtime NFL defensive back and current ESPN analyst took to social media to call out the airline for its changes.

Former Steelers Star Ryan Clark Wants to Boycott Southwest

In a post on social media, Clark made it very clear he plans to avoid the airline at all costs. He lamented the changes made by the airline while pointing out what he once loved about the popular airline.

"Taking my last @SouthwestAir flight today unless there’s no other choice! They’ve lost me, but I’ll never forget the exhilaration of getting that A1 boarding pass," he declared on social media. "That extra leg room in the exit row and knowing I would save everyone on the plane made me smile every time. Farewell old friend!"

Southwest Ends Flights at 2 Popular Airports

The message from Clark comes just a few days after the airline quietly revealed its plan to leave two major United States airports.

On Friday, March 13, Southwest Airlines announced the end of flights at Chicago O’Hare and Washington Dulles with the major change going into effect on June 4, 2026.

The airline warned, “If you have existing travel booked that includes Chicago/O’Hare, IL (ORD) or Washington/Dulles, DC (IAD) on or after this date, your reservation will be affected.”
