Travis Scott Seemingly Throws Shade at Timothée Chalamet
In a case of possibly kicking a man when he's down, it seems that Travis Scott hit out at Timothée Chalamet in a new Instagram post.
Over the weekend, after a polarizing awards season campaign, Chalamet was just pipped for the Academy Award for Best Actor, with the Marty Supreme star losing out to Michael B. Jordan for his performance in Ryan Coogler'sSinners. Controversial comments by Chalamet regarding opera and ballet have been cited as a possible factor in the awards favorite's loss, despite the fact that the actor comes from a family of ballet dancers and was talking about the declining popularity of the arts — including cinema, his own field.
In an Instagram Story (obtained by Entertainment Weekly), Scott seemingly gloated over Chalamet's loss, sharing an image of an emotional Jordan holding an Oscar. The post contained no text, but perhaps a picture speaks a thousand words in this case.
The image was widely viewed by both fans of the acclaimed rapper and the three-time Oscar winner as a form of animosity towards the latter, as Chalamet has been in a relationship with Travis's ex, Kylie Jenner, for over three years. Scott and Jenner dated from around 2017 to 2022, and share two children.

Of course, it should be noted that it's very possible Scott was just happy for the actor's incredible feat, but previous references to Chalamet in his discography lead fans to pick up on something the artist was possibly putting down.
On Scott's song, "Meltdown," he appears to reference Timothée's hit movie Wonka, in which the actor portrayed the iconic eccentric chocolate entrepreneur, created by Roald Dahl. In the lyrics, Travis raps, "Chocolate AP and chocolate the Vs, got the Willy Wonka factory / Burn a athlete like it’s calories, find another flame hot as me." The idea of a new flame in particular adds a Kylie connection that's difficult to deny.
