Which Film Won The Most Awards at the 2026 Oscars?

The 98th Academy Awards are officially over, and Paul Thomas Anderson's One Battle After Another came away with the top prize of Best Picture.

PTA's political thriller didn't just win the biggest award, but it also took home the most awards in total. It won in six categories, including Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Adapted Screenplay.

Sean Penn also took home the award for Best Supporting Actor, while the film's below-the-line teams also won Best Casting and Best Editing against two incredibly stacked lineups.

Sinners trailed closely behind with four Oscars, including Best Actor for Michael B. Jordan. The film also won Best Original Screenplay, Best Cinematography, and Best Original Score.

One Battle After Another stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Chase Infiniti, Teyana Taylor, and Benicio del Toro in a story of revenge, fatherhood, and sacrifice as DiCaprio's protagonist is forced to protect his daughter from the emerging demons of his own revolutionary past.

PTA's film proved to be an Oscars juggernaut, taking down the cultural giant that was Sinners to win Best Picture—despite Ryan Coogler's genre-driven thriller receiving the most Oscar nominations ever by a single movie.

Guillermo del Toro's Frankenstein was another strong contender at this year's awards, succeeding in three major technical categories in the first half of the ceremony. The film took home the Oscars for Best Production Design, Best Costume Design, and Best Makeup & Hairstyling.

Some films, however, didn't perform quite as well as expected. Marty Supreme managed a shocking zero wins against nine nominations, as supposed frontrunner Timothée Chalamet was beaten in Best Actor by Michael B. Jordan.

Among the films that just scored a single victory were Hamnet, Weapons, Sentimental Value, and F1. Jessie Buckley surprised nobody by taking home her well-deserved Best Actress trophy, while Amy Madigan caused an early shock by beating Teyana Taylor and Wunmi Mosaku in Best Supporting Actress.
