Oscars 2026 Full Preview: Every Reunion, Performance and Tribute You Need to Know
The day has finally arrived for the most anticipated night on the entertainment industry's calendar: the Academy Awards. According to showrunner and executive producer Raj Kapoor, this year’s ceremony promises to be an evening full of nostalgia. "Our theme this year is humanity," Kapoor said.
Insiders, including reports from the rehearsals, have hinted at a series of special segments and surprise reunions that audiences will not want to miss.
The Devil Wears Prada
Ahead of the highly anticipated sequel's release on May 1, there has been speculation about the possible Devil Wears Prada reunion at the Oscars. While details have not been released, sources confirmed to People that there will be a moment on stage featuring some members of the cast. It remains unclear exactly who will participate, but with Anne Hathaway already confirmed to be in attendance as a presenter, it is safe to assume that fans will at least see Andy Sachs on the Oscars stage.
Best Original Song Performances
Audiences can expect standout musical performances from two of the five Best Original Song nominees. Among the confirmed acts is "Golden" from Kpop Demon Hunters, which will be brought to life by the singing trio Ejae, Audrey Nuna, and Rei Ami, the voices behind the hit group: HUNTR/X. Their performance is set to be a visually stunning tribute to Korean culture, described as a "fusion of traditional Korean instrumentalists and dance."
The other nominated song scheduled for the Oscars stage is "I Lied to You" from Sinners. The performance will feature Miles Caton and Raphael Saadiq, who will be joined by acclaimed ballerina Misty Copeland and rapper Shaboozey. The lineup for this number also includes cast members Eric Gales, Buddy Guy, Brittany Howard, Christone “Kingfish” Ingram, Jayme Lawson, Li Jun Li, Bobby Rush, and Alice Smith.
Avengers Reunion
An Avengers reunion is also on the Oscars lineup. With Doomsday and Spider-Man: Brand New Day on the horizon, the timing couldn't be better and fans are already speculating it could kick off the Marvel promotional season.
Executive producer Katy Mullan teased the segment to The Hollywood Reporter, saying, "There's also going to be a Marvel reunion for the superhero fans. So we're gonna have superstar superheroes, and there is also going to be an extraterrestrial on the stage. So you can figure that one out."
Bridesmaids Reunion
A Bridesmaids reunion is also generating buzz following early reports from Oscars rehearsals. Attendees described a hilarious bit featuring the beloved comedy's cast that drew applause from those in the room. Maya Rudolph, Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, and Best Actress nominee Rose Byrne are all said to be involved.
Moulin Rouge Reunion
It was also announced that Moulin Rouge duo Ewan McGregor and Nicole Kidman will take the stage at this year's Oscars, likely as presenters.
Bill Pullman and Lewis Pullman
Bill Pullman and Lewis Pullman are also expected to appear. While calling the father-son duo a "reunion" might be a stretch, some are speculating that their joint appearance could mark the start of promotion for the upcoming Spaceballs sequel, due in 2027. Bill Pullman starred in the original.
In Memoriam
Given the ceremony's theme of humanity, this year's In Memoriam segment is predicted to be a particularly emotional and lengthy one .
Sources confirmed to Deadline that Barbra Streisand is in talks to perform as a tribute to her The Way We Were co-star, Robert Redford . Additionally, Meg Ryan and Billy Crystal are said to be honoring the When Harry Met Sally director Rob Reiner. Sources told Variety that Crystal will speak about the late filmmaker during the In Memoriam segment, with Ryan joining him on stage alongside other stars from Reiner's films.
The 98th Oscars ceremony will air live on ABC and stream live on Hulu on March 15, 4 p.m. PST and 7:00 p. EST.
