'Baywatch' Revival: Here's Every New and Returning Star (So Far)
Get ready for a return to the beach—and, hopefully, more slow-motion running—as Fox preps its upcoming Baywatch revival.
The studio announced a reimagining of the '90s show back in September 2025 and has been steadily building out its cast ahead of a 2026–2027 season launch. Filming will reportedly start this spring in Venice Beach and the Fox backlot in Century City, per The Hollywood Reporter.
The show will revolve around legacy character Hobie Buchannon, who was the son of David Hasselhoff's Mitch and played by Jeremy Jackson on the original. Arrow star Stephen Amell, however, will play the character on the revival.
“The wild child Hobie Buchannon we all loved from the original series is now a Baywatch Captain, following in the footsteps of his legendary father, Mitch,” reads the official synopsis.
“Hobie’s world is turned upside down when Charlie, the daughter he never knew, shows up on his doorstep, eager to carry on the Buchannon family legacy and become a Baywatch lifeguard alongside her dad,” it continues.
So far, the cast includes Amell, at least one returning star from the OG series and a few other familiar faces. Here's who has joined the series so far.
Stephen Amell as Hobie Buchannon
In February 2026, it was announced Amell would be stepping into the shoes of Hobie, one of two legacy characters on the reboot so far.
“I’m fully aware that Baywatch is iconic — and at its heart, it’s entertainment. It’s big, fun, and unapologetically larger than life. But filming it here in Los Angeles adds a deeper layer of meaning,” Amell said in a statement at the time.
“These beaches aren’t just a backdrop; they represent a city that has endured so much and continues to stand tall,” he added. “If this new chapter can bring people joy while quietly honoring the first responders, the families rebuilding, and everyone who has carried this city forward, then that’s something I’m incredibly proud to be part of.”
David Chokachi as Cody Mathison
David Chokachi, so far, is the only original star cast in the reboot, where he'll reprise his role as Cody Mathison.
Per the synopsis, the character “now runs The Shoreline, the unofficially official Baywatch bar-and-grill, and still puts on the red trunks for the occasional shift saving lives.”
“He’s a mentor to and a friend, providing a second home for his fellow lifeguards… and always offering free wings after a big save,” teases Fox.
Chokachi, meanwhile, said on Instagram that he's “Super grateful for the overwhelmingly positive press response to the Baywatch reboot.” He added, “All love across the board—and a reminder of just how iconic this show still is. Excited to head back to the beach and work alongside such an amazing group of talent.”
Shay Mitchell as Trina
Pretty Little Liars alum Shay Mitchell joined the cast in March; she'll reportedly play a former lawyer-turned-lifeguard named Trina.
“Trina is the sharpest mind on Baywatch. Passionate and dedicated, she tends to follow her heart…even if she often uses her considerable intelligence to second guess herself,” reads the character description.
Brooks Nader as Selene
Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model, Dancing with the Stars contestant and reality TV star Brooks Nader also joined the cast in March as Selene.
Per the character description, Selena is the “sharp-tongued” lifeguard captain of Zuma Beach, one who has beef with Hobie. She also has a “very different approach to saving lives,” which causes “constant” friction between them.
“Never on good terms, their relationship only goes downhill after Hobie brings his daughter Charlie onto his team…and it becomes clear that their rivalry goes much deeper than lifeguarding.”
After landing the role, Nader took to Instagram to exclaim, “I believed in this long before it made sense ???? . Never give up, chase your dreams no matter how wild there are!!!!!”
Jessica Belkin as Charlie Vale
Jessica Belkin will play Hobie's daughter, Charlie Vale, on the new series.
According to reports, Jessica is the bio-daughter Hobie never knew, one who showed up at her father's doorstep after leaving Galveston behind. Her goal: to become a lifeguard, like her dad.
“Fearless, passionate, and occasionally reckless, Charlie has all the makings of a Buchannon legend,” reportsDeadline. “She has a lot to learn, however, and the father she never met might be exactly the mentor she’s always needed.”
Belkin reacted to her casting by sharing to Instagram, “i would love to act casual about this, i simply cannot. still processing, endlessly grateful. thank you to our creators for believing in me. see you in the sand ❤️????????”
Noah Beck as Luke
TikTok star Noah Beck—who boasts 33million followers—was also cast on the show, as a lifeguard named Luke.
“He’s the ultimate charming SoCal beach boy, a surfer and a flirt, but when it comes to saving lives he’s one of the best,” reads his character description, which also notes that he's a lifeguard coming from a family of firefighters.
“He’s got some growing up to do, and Baywatch is a big part of that, especially his relationship with Hobie who he sees as a mentor and a second father,” it adds.
Beck, too, said he was “forever grateful” for the opportunity to join the series.
Hassie Harrison as Nat
Yellowstone alum Hassie Harrison will also be picking up a red swimsuit, joining the show as a “a former foster kid turned Olympic athlete” named Nat.
“Nat is the gold standard when it comes to lifeguarding. Brilliant, driven, and fiercely loyal, she’s Hobie’s right hand and closest friend,” reads her character description. “Nat holds everyone to the same high standards she has for herself, which sometimes gets in the way of her relationships on and off the beach.”
“Babe, wake up. I’m on Baywatch now,” she captioned an announcement of her casting.
Thaddeus LaGrone as Brad
Football player-turned-actor Thaddeus LaGrone will star as Marine-turned-lifeguard Brad.
His character “served two tours in an elite division of the Marines before returning back home to Venice Beach to care for his ailing father.”
Per Variety, “Brad is fearless and incredibly strong, a one-man rescue machine. His challenge on Baywatch is that lifeguarding isn’t about working alone — it’s a group effort where asking for help is a strength, not a weakness. It’s a lesson Brad will have to learn the hard way with the help of his Baywatch family.”
Sharing his casting on social media, LaGrone said he was “Beyond excited & Blessed to be joining this historical, international, and epic series.”
