Buffalo Wild Wings Just Dropped a New Protein Martini, and Everyone Had the Same Reaction
Buffalo Wild Wings is really living up to the “wild” part of its name with its latest cocktail offering.
This week, the chicken wing joint introduced its twist on the classic espresso martini, dubbed the “Espresso Proteini.” Sharing a photo of the concoction to X on Monday, the chain explained it’s “infused with Buffalo Dry Rub and jam-packed with 10 grams of protein."
It also appears to have a dry rub rim, while a press release touts the addition of Muscle Milk protein powder.
“You’re welcome for the macros,” BWW joked.
When and Where to Try It
The chain confirmed that its loony libation will launch at select locations on Friday, March 13 though Sunday, March 15. National Espresso Martini Day, by the way, falls on March 15.
Per the announcement, participating bars include locations in Hendersonville, TN; Shorewood, IL; Alpharetta, GA; Lemmon, TX; and Orlando, FL.
Social Media Reactions
While there were a few people excited to try the bizarre beverage—including Gold’s Gym, which joked, “If it helps with the gains, we support it. ????”—most were decidedly grossed out by the idea.
“Yall are heinous, I wanna try it,” quipped one person on social media, while another added, “Did the intern hit send on the April fools post early?”
“what are we doing ????” wondered one skeptic, as comments flooded in like, “authorities are being called,” “Didn’t Jesus warn us about this and if not: WHY NOT?” and “Wait. What?! Go home, you’re drunk BWW!”

Following a number of headlines, as well as a ton of wild reactions online, BWW took to its own social media channels again on Wednesday to troll the response to the drink with a new pair of posts.
In one, the chain used a meme that went viral after Apple’s recent reveal of its new emojis, showing what’s being called a “Distorted face." In the other, it showed a mock headline about the drink, as someone made to sound like an influencer lists all the ways brands are trying to get in on the protein trend.
This isn’t the first drink at the chain to turn heads, as BWW also partnered with Mountain Dew in 2025 for the "Mountain Dew Radler.” That shandy-like mix was half Mountain Dew and half beer—specifically their Goose Island Wild Herd Kölsch—and was only available for a month.
So...are you brave enough to try the Espresso Proteini?
