Four Teams That Could Trade for Maxx Crosby After Ravens Back Out of Deal

The NFL world was thrown for a loop Tuesday night when the Las Vegas Raiders announced that the Baltimore Ravens had backed out of their earlier trade agreement involving star pass rusher Maxx Crosby. The Ravens had previously okayed sending first-round picks in 2026 and 2027 to the Raiders in exchange forthe 28-year-old Crosby.

"The Baltimore Ravens have backed out of our trade agreement for Maxx Crosby. We will have no further comment at this time," the Raiders' statement reads.

According to NFL insider Dianna Russini of The Athletic, Baltimore pulled out of the deal after Crosby failed a physical. While that will certainly give other teams some pause, we'd expect there to be no shortage of interest in the five-time Pro Bowler now that he's back on the market.

Here are four teams we could see trading for Crosby:

Buffalo Bills

The Bills are in win-now mode, and were involved in the pursuit of Crosby before Baltimore and Las Vegas came to an agreement, said Sports Illustrated's Albert Breer.

Breer indicated Buffalo could not offer as much as Baltimore or the Dallas Cowboys, but maybe that changes on the second go-around.

Chicago Bears

The Bears are another team that was reportedly sniffing around Crosby, and general manager Ryan Poles has made improving the defense a priority in free agency with the additions of defensive back Coby Bryant, defensive tackle Neville Gallimore and linebacker Devin Bush.

Crosby, Montez Sweat, Gervon Dexter and Grady Jarrett wreaking havoc on offensive lines next season? Sounds scary.

Dallas Cowboys

The Cowboys had been extensively linked to Crosby before Baltimore won the initial sweepstakes, with NFL reporter Jordan Schultz saying Dallas was considered "the runner-ups."

Reportedly, the Cowboys balked at the price of two first-round picks, but now that they have another opportunity, at possibly a cheaper cost, might we see Jerry Jones' team get involved again? Dallas already traded for Green Bay Packers pass rusher Rashan Gary, but Crosby is a different class of player.

Philadelphia Eagles

SI's Albert Breer also reported that Philadelphia checked in on Crosby, but "was never a factor with its focus on retaining Jaelan Phillips." Well, Phillips is gone, off to Carolina for an eye-popping payday, meaning there's an edge rushing hole that Crosby can fill.

Eagles GM Howie Roseman has never met a trade he didn't like, and won't hesitate to get aggressive to acquire a player, especially one as accomplished as Crosby. Watch out for Philly.

A reminder: any trades can not become official until the new league year kicks off at 4 p.m. ET Wednesday.
