Why We Love This Deal

The world of e-bikes is growing rapidly, so how do you know which one is right for you? If you’re looking for an easy entry that’ll be kind to your wallet, check out this bestselling electric mountain bike from Walmart that’s under $400 at the moment.

The PostJoy Electric Mountain Bike is on sale for $380, which is $348 off the original $728 price tag. This item boasts nearly 60 five-star ratings at Walmart and comes in two colors, blue and black, but only the former is on sale right now. What's great about picking this bike is that it actually ships for free, when many other budget models around this price will carry some kind of cost to ship it.

What Shoppers Should Know

  • Maximum Capacity: 365 pounds
  • Maximum Speed: 28 miles per hour
  • Maximum Travel Distance: 65 miles
  • Weight: 60 pounds
  • Assembly Required: Yes

There are plenty of fancier, more expensive e-bikes out there, but this one will serve you well on a budget. Plus, it can still hit a max speed of 28 miles per hour, which is a fair amount faster than some of the other e-bikes we’ve looked at. It bumps it up into the "Class 3" category and may even come with stricter rules on the road, depending on the state you're using it in. It’s not the lightest bike we’ve seen—weighing in at 60 pounds—but it can support up to 365 pounds of capacity. In addition, it has all the normal e-bike features that set these rides apart, including different riding modes, an LCD display, and a brushless motor.

While this e-bike doesn’t come assembled, shoppers say it’s easy to put it together. And once you do, it can travel up to 65 miles on a single charge and conquer 30-degree inclines with ease. That makes it a smart choice for longer commutes over varied terrain, or using it for what it was intended to do—taking on small hills.

For a generic-brand e-bike, this is a fair price. The only bikes that are cheaper are generally smaller, and all of the name-brand ones usually go for at least $600 (and are often north of $1,000).

What Shoppers Are Saying

If you’re still worried about assembly, this shopper said you shouldn’t be. “This is my first e-bike,” they began. “I was very nervous about purchasing it because I was afraid it would be cheaply put together. It's excellent. It was easy to assemble and everything I wanted!”

Another reviewer raved about the affordable price. “I did not expect such a good bike at this price,” they said. “I really loved going out for a ride and really like the fact that I don't have to pedal…I would suggest this to anyone who just needs to get around.”

The PostJoy Electric Mountain Bike is under $400 at Walmart. Save on the bestseller ASAP before the budget-friendly bike sells out.
