Stephanie Buttermore’s Cause of Death Is Unclear. What Her Last Instagram Post Revealed

0 16

Almost two years before her sudden and mysterious death at the age of 36, fitness influencer Stephanie Buttermore took a break from social media. And, in a final Instagram post, which would end up being her last ever, she spoke about a history with "crippling" anxiety.

Getting off of social media cured that, she revealed, explaining that her mental health had improved greatly.

Buttermore was the fiancée of bodybuilder Jeff Nippard. Nippard announced her death in a heartbreaking Instagram post on March 7. “It is with profound sorrow that we share the sudden passing of Jeff’s fiancée and partner of 10 years, Stephanie,” Nippard's post read. “As many of you know, Stephanie meant the world to Jeff. She will be remembered for her warmth and compassion, her love for her family, and her PhD research on ovarian cancer.” Nippard's post requested privacy.

Nippard recently posted a Valentine's Day photo with Buttermore. "Relationshipmaxxing with tea time to lower cortisol levels ❤️" he wrote.

How Did Stephanie Buttermore Die? Jeff Nippard Did Not Release Her Cause of Death

How did Buttermore die? That's unclear. Nippard did not release her cause of death.

On May 20, 2024, Buttermore penned her final Instagram post, accompanying it with a selfie. It was headlined, "What I’ve Learned Taking A Break from Instagram."
⠀⠀⠀
"I’ve been pretty MIA on social media all year, but I’ve taken some pretty valuable things away from it. Some things are positive, some also negative. So I’m not here just to bash IG :)" she wrote.

She then listed the positives and negatives. "Positive. My mental health has been the best it’s ever been, but I’ll give you some specifics. I no longer struggle with anxiety. At all. It was almost crippling a few years ago to the point I felt I couldn’t breathe or leave my house," she wrote. "Now I really don’t have to care whether people liked what I posted or if they are saying negative things about me. I also don’t have highs and lows from periodic dopamine hits every time I open the app. I’m living in a judgment free space and it’s peaceful here ????"
⠀⠀⠀
She said there were some negative aspects too. "Negative. I miss my social media friends and community. So not only did I not post, I also didn’t consume any content on IG. I opened the app maybe once a month and tbh I genuinely missed seeing what my friends were up to," she wrote. "I miss the positive interactions I used to have in my DMs and in my comments. Of course social media can be toxic, but it can also be an amazing place to connect, learn, get motivated, and make friends."

Buttermore added that she felt "way more present. This one is obvious, but when you don’t even think about opening Instagram out of habit, it’s like finally opening your eyes to what’s going on around you. When I’m with my family or Jeff, I’m much more immersed in the moment."

She concluded, "I take photos for the sake of saving memories and not because I’m going to post it on my story. I never get caught not listening to someone because I’m checking comments, and I’m in a better mood because I’m not anxious. Family time is family time. Period."

Jeff Nippard Met Stephanie Buttermore After Sliding Into Her 'DMs'

In 2022, Nippard explained the couple's relationship history.

"6 years ago I slid in @stephanie_buttermore’s DMs and we immediately formed a friendship. We started Skyping for 3-4 hours every day for about a month (no joke) until I went to visit her in Florida from Canada," he wrote.

"Our first date was a shoulder workout and I will never forget it ???? We got along like best friends right away because we established a foundation of shared interests and values from the beginning," he added.

"Last month, I asked Steph to marry me and she said yes! It’s been an amazing journey of growth and love. Can’t wait for the next chapter together ❤️" Nippard wrote.
