Popeyes and Church's Chicken "Beef" Erupts on Social Media, and Wendy’s Chimes In
Not sure if you can blame it on the rising temperatures or what, but tension seems to be thick in the air these days with rivalries flaring up in pop culture. While a lot of attention has been paid to the ongoing feud between Grammy-winning rappers T.I. and 50 Cent lately, a new beef erupted on social media that no one saw coming between popular fast-food chicken chains, Popeyes and Church’s Chicken.
The two companies have been trading shady remarks all over X (formerly Twitter), and the back-and-forth banter is actually funny. So let’s jump right into what’s going on between the two that has even caused a Wendy’s to get involved.
Popeyes and Church’s Chicken Argue Over Biscuits
It appears the cyberspace confrontation between Popeyes and Church’s Chicken may be due to biscuits. Back on March 4, a user on X referenced the recent burger tastings between the McDonald’s, Wendy’s, and Burger King CEOs and noted that one should be done with Popeyes and Church’s Chicken.
Then on March 5, Church’s Chicken was interacting with satisfied customers on X, and quite a few people were giving the restaurant props for its biscuits. Then, when some X users started comparing Church’s Chicken biscuits to Popeye’s biscuits, things got out of hand. It started with the Church’s Chicken account commenting, “We prefer ours with honey-butter for a reason ????.”
The remark was subtly shady, but it kicked off a fiery banter between the two companies with a few jabs thrown. One of the funnier exchanges was when Popeyes told Church’s Chicken, “Glad we could make you relevant again.” Offended by the comment, Church’s Chicken clapped back, “A comeback as dry as them biscuits.” Popeyes retorted, “You're as salty as your chicken.” Check out a few of the exchanges in the screenshot below.

Wendy’s Gets Dragged into the Beef
Commenting on Dexerto's post on Twitter referencing the recent news that Wendy’s is hiring a “Chief Tasting Officer” position, Popeyes threw a job at Wendy’s, commenting, “Good they need it.” Wendy’s, of course, didn’t let that remark go, eventually calling Popeyes “Flopeyes.”
Popeyes quickly dismissed the comment with, “Maybe your new chief tasting officer can make a better comeback ????.” By the way, Church’s Chicken chimed back in here and stated, “And who taste tested your biscuits?? ????.”

The exchanges between the three restaurants are nothing short of hilarious. You can follow along with them by going to the Church’s Chicken, Popeyes, and Wendy’s accounts on X.
